You can check out and download the following types of digital materials at this website…
- Audio books, spoken text, in the OverDrive Media Console format
- eBooks, electronic text, in the Adobe Reader/Adobe Digital Editions format (ebooks optimized for onscreen rading)
- eBooks, electronic text, in the Mobipocket Reader format (ebooks optimized for onscreen reading and transfer to an array of portable devices)
To access these digital materials you need…
- A valid library card and PIN#
- Internet access
- A computer or device that meets the system requirements for the type(s) of digital materials you wish to check out
- Free software for the computer or device on which you wish to use the materials available at this site
Using Elibraries with iOs devices:
Here are the easy steps to use Overdrive Media with your iPod Touch, iPad, or iPhone. (you need to be running iOs 4.0 or newer. For upgrade instructions read here.)
1. Get the App free here or search for “overdrive media console” in the app store
2. Open the Overdrive Media App on your device
3. Go to “Get Books +”
4. Pick “Add a website”
5. Search or Browse for library, and find the appropriate one ex.) Canada, Manitoba, North-West Regional Library.
6. Click on the “Available Formats” to go to the site.
7. Using the above example, will bring you to eLibraries where you find and download your book.
**Note: At the moment, only ePub and MP3 Audiobooks are supported, so you are limited to those formats.
8. Your book will show up in the Overdrive App. If it is an audiobook you will need to click on Download (in Overdrive) to download the rest of the book, otherwise touching on the book will open it. Tapping on the right side of the page advances to the next page and the left goes back one. Enjoy!
